“We are really happy that we as GEA Westfalia Separator were part of the Pro-Enrich project. Through the project we have learnt about different perspectives from various industry partners down the value chain regarding their business and product demands.

With the project’s strong focus on development, it was very good to have the different R&D partners on board. Their development capabilities were important in relation to achieving the technology readiness levels (TRL).

We particularly worked closely together with the colleagues of DTI´s biorefinery pilot plant and the BioComposites Centre in Bangor on the extraction of rapeseed protein with our decanter and disc stack separator technologies.

We gained experiences on how we must adjust our equipment prior to possible micro- and ultrafiltration steps in that process. Further, we found a good scale up base for potential industrial scale application.

We are proud that we can showcase our pilot decanters and separators in the facilities of DTI in Taastrup (DK) and the BioComposites Centre in Bangor (UK).

For the future we have partners to collaborate with for process development who have our equipment at hand", says Dominik Krienke, Product Manager Sales from GEA Westfalia Separator
